A New Year

2012 was a great year. It also was the hardest year of my life. I was lucky enough to marry my amazing husband at the end of 2011, so 2012 was our first year as a married couple! I love my Ethan James more than anything. We have grown together this year especially with a lot of hard times that happened.

Some big things that happened in 2012.....

Ethan finished his last semester at USU as an undergrad. He got a real grown up job at North Layton Junior High, and has loved teaching and coaching the boys basketball team. He will eventually go back to school to get his Master's but has to wait til he has his level 2 teaching to get the Master's that he wants. I am so proud of him and all his hard work. We also got to spend a lot of time together on Sundays as we taught the 8 year olds in primary. We just were released and Ethan was called to be the Young Men's 1st counselor. He is pretty excited and he will do great!!!

I started the year just working as an LPN at Washington Terrace Care and Rehab to help get Ethan through school and it actually turned into a blessing because I was able to spend a lot of time with my Mom on my days off.  In May I was accepted back into the Nursing Program. I continued to work and go to school Fall semester at Weber State, but actually ended up quitting my job a week ago in order to help with the pregnancy. I have one more semester til I get my RN. With only 5 credits this semester. Which also turns out to be a blessing. I am hoping and praying I can get through my precepting (internship for nurses) before the baby comes. After this semester I hopefully will be accepted to the BSN program at Weber which would only be 2  more semesters and I am going to find a job. Even though it has only been a week without work I am going CRAZY not working! But I know it was the right thing to do!

In July we found out we were expecting! Big news for us! It has turned out to be such a blessing and life changing thing! We are excited to be parents. She will be here shortly about 2 more months if all goes well!:)

On March 10 we lost my mom to a courageous fight with cancer. This year has been tough without her here. But I know she has helped us out in so many ways. She was my best friend. I am so grateful that from Nov til March I spent almost everyday with her on my off days at work helping her out and taking her to appointments. She taught me so much, expecially in that short amount of time. She was the best example to how I should be. She loved the Gospel and she loved everyone. She was so outgoing and positive. I was so blessed to have her at my wedding and I know she is up there with our little girl. Our little girl is a blessing that is going to be here at the one year anniversary of her death. I know my mom had a part in helping her get her. I have and always will love and miss my Mom!

As for 2013, I hope for a good year! We are excited to see what the future holds in our little family. We are very blessed!
